One-stop-shop for the perfect t-shirt

Have you ever had a eureka moment, when you dream up a possible money making solution to an every day problem, something that bugs you personally?

I had one such eureka moment several years ago, when searching online for cycling directions in Amsterdam. I found that route planners only provide travel directions for vehicles. So I thought why not build a website that sourced directions for cyclists – eureka!

Did I do anything with this idea? No but somebody else did and launched Route Craft for cyclists in Amsterdam. Ok, admittedly I was a gutted as it should have been me.

Two recently launched t-shirt websites were born out of similar eureka moments.

The problem: to find new, unique and interesting t-shirts online meant trawling thousands of retailers for the perfect design.

The solution: a t-shirt search engine that does the trawling for you!

Please Dress Me

Please Dress Me

Please Dress Me, described as a classic example of scratching ones own itch, was developed by AJ Vaynerchuk, Gary Vaynerchuk and Joe Stump out of their love for tees. The website is a simple but concise search engine which allows you to find t-shirts based on tags, colour and price from an extensive list of pre-approved US vendors.

Shirt Seek

Shirt Seek

Shirt Seek is a tailor-made t-shirt database. Paul Grzymkowski the sites originator with the help of ’seekers’, tags t-shirts from across the web. Not only can you browse and search for shirts but discuss and rate them too – building a community of t-shirt lovers.

P.S. AJ, Gary, Joe or Paul if you’re reading this post, please don’t forget your European allies – we love t-shirts too!

Thanks so much for the writeup! I love your choice of inset graphic, too :-)

Rest assured, I haven’t forgotten about you guys – just know that I’m basically a one-man-band so the worldwide roll out will be a little slow going.

But stay tuned. With enough interest it might happen sooner than you’d think…
